The 2023 OCTG Theatre Awards are now complete, and like last year's initial awards ceremony, they reaffirmed the dedication and resolve of Orange County’s theater community in overcoming formidable challenges and maximizing whatever talent and resources are available.
Now, let's examine the ceremony that took place on Monday night, April 17 – but first, let's briefly revisit the previous year.
Last year, the Orange County Theatre Guild finally executed its first OC Theatre Awards ceremony, after the pandemic had caused delays and disrupted theaters all over. That event marked a return to normalcy by enabling a significant group of actors, directors, producers, designers, and various theater personnel to honor something they cherish and demonstrate that COVID-19 had harmed but not destroyed live theater in Orange County.
By the day following the awards, OCTG was already preparing for and announcing its second annual OC Theatre Awards.
